Our client, one of the largest firms in the home and business energy sales world, has a sales management and sales team that is one of the strongest in the business.

In this particular role, someone who can lead a team to higher performance will have a clear career path to the next level.

Location: Middlesex County, NJ


This individual will manage 30 people who work in a B2C inside sales group that covers the multi-state eastern seaboard territories for the firm.

This is a pro-active sales team that works from leads generated by field sales and other parts of the company. It is not a passive customer response function but a new business generation group.

Because of the successes to date, the client wants to capitalize on this function's potential. So it wants to add a sales manager who knows how to develop sales talent---using the same approach as one might for a traditional field sale force.

The tasks will be familiar to someone who has successfully managed sales people: set goals, direct, measure, motivate, train and mentor team leaders and individuals to achieve greater personal performance.

In addition to some direct reports who are individual performers, the manager will also supervise two team leaders and their staff.

Like any other sales management job, the position focuses on accountability and the daily/monthly metrics of performance. Using these metrics, it's up to this sales manager to improve results. Client captures performance against metrics with the Salesforce.com CRM. It has extended and customized that system for the sales manager's benefits.

In addition to identifying individual and team leader strengths and weaknesses, the position will review current processes and identify and address opportunities for improvement.


Must have been in sales for at least 5 years, and in sales management for at least two. More experience is desirable.

Have demonstrated that he/she has achieved greater sales performance through others by managing, coaching, education and performance reviews.

Does not have to have energy sales experience but residential sales experience is a plus.

Be proficiency in MS Word and Excel software. knowledge of Salesforce not required but extremely valuable

What is necessary is that the candidate must be a hands-on sales manager with the ability to motivate and manage sales reps.

BS Degree preferred but not required.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
